"There is a river"

There is a wonderful song in Swedish that fits in to the view I saw this morning when I was doing my morning walk. The lake was so peaceful and still, no wind, no rain, just a little mist and quietness over the waters....

It goes like this:
"Det finns en källa,
från Gud den flödar fram.
Det finns ett vatten,
Guds kärlek är dess namn
Drick av det vattnet,
och evigt liv du får,
Det finns en källa,
från Golgata den når."

(Translation, literally:)

"There is a spring
it flows from the Lord.
There is a water,
Gods love is it's name.
Drink of that water,
eternal life you get
There is a fountain
it reaches from Golgatha."

Choices

Most of the things we do in life is about: choices. From the time we wake up we can choose to: get up or not, eat breakfast or not, brush our teeth or not, be grumpy or happy, dress in black or white, go to work or not, dress the kids or not and the list can go on and on......Sometimes we make stupid choices and we have to live with the bad concequences of that bad choice. Sometimes we make very good choices and we will live with some pretty good concequences. No matter what choice we will make there will be concequences for it.

God is a God that gave us choices. He is a gentleman, he never forces us to do things. We will always have a choice. God even gave His son a choice. Jesus could have chosen not to go to the cross and die. How do we know he had a choice. Well, the Bible says that, Jesus was in the garden praying and asking God to "remove this cup from him", that is the choice of going to the cross, but Jesus looked at the options and said that "let not my will be done, but Yours". So he was obedient to His father. But he knew that he had to suffer for making that choice, he knew that he had to go through injustice with beatings and mockings from the whole world. Yet, he chose the Fathers will. How cruel you might think, a father sending his son to the cross. But if you look at the end result of that sacrifice, that is that, "anyone who call on that name shall be saved", Jesus did not see the pain he was about to go through, he was focusing on the promise that God gave him. The promise was that of a more glorious ending than that of the suffering. God promised that He would raise Jesus from the grave on the third day to be seated on God the Fathers right hand side so that all man shall be saved and go through to heaven if people believed in what God did was true. Jesus kept his eyes focused on the promise rather than the pain.

Sometimes we have to make choices in life, and sometimes it is very hard choices. And even if we know that the choices we make sometimes is not going to benefit others, we choose a choice that will benefit our own agenda because we feel we are worth it. But sometimes it is not our own selfish choices that will benefit yourself in the long run.

Sometimes we for instance have to make a choice for our kids future that might not be beneficial for our own feelings but we will make it anyway and our kids will have it better. Maybe we will make choices that hurt us, but will benefit others. It is our own choice.

Words.............

Words are lifegiving or deathtaking. Words can hurt, encourage, heal, destroy. These are differences that are not easily tamed. To think about that you have life and death in your tounge is pretty scary. You can encourage a person to the degreee that he will not be suicidal anymore but you can also put a person so down, by just saying the wrong words, to kill himself. A mother can tell her child so many bad things that eventually that child will believe the words and act upon them and become depressed or down in life because of it or she can encourage her child so much that she will be the best person there is to be. It's all about what we put into peoples lives. Yes, we have been brought up in different ways and are sometimes results of what people might have told us, but we have a choice to act on it or not. We can choose to allow these voices to win or not.
If we are rooted in the Word, read the Bible daily, meditate on scriptures, we can overcome those voices that are constantly ringing in our ears. "Renew your mind every day" it says in the Bible. There is a reason for that. The battle of who we are is in our minds. That is where we need to get victory over the lies that we hear.
It is very important to know that we have life and death in our tounge. With it we can curse or we can bless. We have to choose to give life.

God is awesome!

Gods ability to do things is not determined of what we say or do. God is God! He can do what ever He wants and His spirit goes where it wants. We cannot force Him to do what we want. He knows our hearts. If we sing our best or preach a perfect sermon or wear the best clothes it is not going to impress God, but faith is. Without faith you cannot please God! God is God! He says: "I AM". And that's how our faith must be in Him, we must be able to trust Him, that He is in control of everything. He will not do something on your time, He will do it on His time. When He knows we are ready for what we prayed.

So do not panic! He is in control! And know that when you think that you can manipulate Him to give you something just because you cry or pray hard enough or read your Bible twenty times a day, the answer will not be according to your will but according to His will.

Long time no see

I just realized it's a long time ago I wrote. Time goes by so quickly and you don't even realize that the time has gone already. I am amazed to see how fast the Lord works these days in people who get saved. The Lord is doing a quick work and He will do it because of His glory and because Jesus is coming back soon. No other one shall have the honour. I am expectant what He has install for me and my family for the future. In His word He says in Jeremia 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you....." We can make all the plans in the world but God has already a set out plan for you. Acknowledge God in your choice of path, He says in Proverbs 3:5,6 that: "Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your path". If God now says that He can not go back on His promises and we will belive and trust Him, He would be a liar if He would not keep them.

There is one thing I know after 15 years of walking this narrow path with Jesus and that is; HE HAS NEVER FAILED ME!!
